Copyright Restrictions on In-Person Storytime Programs?
Hi there,
I would love to hear how your institutions have approached developing in-person storytime programs that comply with copyright restrictions. Based on what I can find online, it appears that live/in-person read alouds in classrooms and libraries fall under the Fair Use exemption of the Copyright Act and are therefore permissible. The museum I work for is a nonprofit but charges admission--does this exemption apply to us as well? Additionally, because we are hosting the sto...

I'm sure that many of you are familiar with the new overtime rules that are going into effect in July and then again in January of next year. A few of our current full-time salaried employees are impacted by this change - they used to be over the threshold to be classified as exempt employees but will now be eligible for overtime pay.
