Automated access gates - lessons learned?
Hi all,
The Canadian Children's Museum is undergoing a large renewal project. As we plan a new entrance to the space, we are being asked by senior leadership to integrate automated access gates similar, for example, to gates to get into subway stations/metros. (Note that we haven't undertaken a feasibility study, so we do not have a specific model yet in mind. Sample images below).
--> Does anyone have a similar system at their Museum? Any lessons ...

Birthday Gift Brainstorm
Hi everyone! I’d love to hear how other STEM/children’s museums handle birthday party gifts for the birthday honoree.
We currently give the birthday child a free gift from our souvenir shop, historically branded merchandise with a retail value of $20 or less. We love a walking billboard at OH WOW! Over the years, our selection of branded items has dwindled, so we now let them choose anything in the store (excluding consignment items) valued under $20. Most kids...
