Said: Thanks for the response Megan! When you sell a gift membership, how long does the recipient have to redeem or do you activate upon purchase. Right now, we give the recipient 12 months to activate the membership.

Gift Certificate Expiration
Hello! We sell gift certificates for membership and admission. I have recently learned that retail businesses can not issue an expiration date on a gift card because it is considered cash. Does this law pertain to museums who sell various levels of membership and admission as gifts too? In the research I have done thus far, museum policies for gift card expiration is all over the place.
