What fun to learn that curious Virginia O’Hanlon (as in Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause) was also an advocate for the importance of play.
Evidently 8-year-old Virginia was full of questions and her physician father got a bit tired of answering them, so he suggested she write to the New York Sun about her question on the existence of Santa.
